Squirrel Inc. - More Than Telling Lies

Recently, numerous blogs have reported on yet another excellent book release by author and marketer extraordinaire, Seth Godin. His latest volume entitled, 'All Marketers Are Liars', is essentially a book about storytelling. Well, there is more than that between the pages, but after thumbing this volume I was reminded of a great little book i read about 6 months ago—Squirrel Inc.

I mean, this book is pure fun. A silly little ditty about a company (and a bar owner) made up of nothing but squirrels. Now, moi, I love squirrels, unlike my wife who goes for the slingshot whenever she sees a little brown fella run across the top of our backyard fence, while we sip on a chardonnay after a hard day.

Squirrel Inc. is a must read for anyone who wants to seque from being a mere marketer, into a leader. This book is about leadship. It is what separates all true leaders from the basic entrepreneur, the ability to tell stroies that inspire and more importantly, move people to action.

I say this. Buy Seth's book to better understand the stories that are told to sell a product. Read Squirrel Inc. to learn how and why true leaders tell stories.
